ProShip AES-ACE Gateway module
Commissioning Requirements
Customers need to register at least one EIN (preferably, the highest business entity (e.g. parent company) if there are multiples) via the ACE “Letter of Intent”: http://www.cbp.gov/trade/aes/letter-intent/form-commodity-data. If a customer is transitioning from another service provider that also used the ACE EDI transmission method, this step should be theoretically optional.
An ACE Account is NOT a profile for EDI AES. Customers need to set up both.
The things you may need to know in filling out the online form are:
- The Technical Point of Contact is the person to which the CBP would talk to if there were problems with the information that was sent
- Type of Business - most likely you are an “exporter”
- Under “Methods for Transmitting Data”:
- DO NOT check radio button for “Self-programming”
- DO NOT check radio button for “Using Purchased Software” and leave the block under it blank.
- DO select “Using Service Provider's Software”
- put “ProShip, AES-ACE Gateway” in the contact block immediately following.
- put in 46-559-7988 for “Service provider transmitter ID”
- DO NOT check radio button for “Using Software with a VAN option” and leave the blocks under it blank.
- “Format of Data” is ANSI X12
- For “Do you already participate in one of CBP's automated programs?” enter “no”
- For Assigned Client Representative leave it blank
- “Anticipated Implementation Date” is today at worst, sometime last week at best.
- For “Self-Certification Statement” read the text below the box for what to include, i.e. “Company Name, Title of Company Official, and E-mail Address of Company Official”.
You likely also want to have an ACE account, for which setup information is described here.
