To upgrade an existing installation, log all users out of Clippership, and run the installation from one workstation.

• In prior releases this year, the Clippership Peripheral Engine has been upgraded to support some sizing options, where available, due to UPS requirements to support 4×4 labels. As part of this an architectural review and compliance with modern coding standards and Microsoft Windows operating system access have led to deprecation of legacy drivers. As a result this version of Clippership cannot be used with an older Peripheral Engine and old DLLs from prior systems for those drivers will not be read for use.

• Upon upgrade startup of the first post 23.1 release . Clippership will attempt to upgrade peripheral choices. A screen may appear and report that not all peripherals could be replaced and that a user will need to review this for the workstation profiles and possibly assign new peripherals and port names. This will need to be done with a login that uses that profile. This is due to an overhaul of the system and how it reads ports and deprecated devices.
  • Deprecated drivers will not be updated.
  • The Windows Image Driver is not supplied and may not see further development. If this is being used please contact support with information on it's use.

• In addition to UPS compliance changes, 23.3 also supports FedEx FSMS and the change from FedEx SmartPost to Ground Economy. Although it is not required in this release, shippers are highly encouraged to contact their Clippership supplier to upgrade FSMS and then update the FedEx phase to take advantage of this service and also to be on FedEx's latest supported Server platform.

• Please reference the Version 23.1.0, Version 23.3.0 and Fixes from 23.3.0.00X Releases.

• With Version 22.0.2.000, BluJay Parcel reverted to Clippership® branding. The Help File will continue to be updated in this release.

• This release supports the UPS rate and service changes for 2024 (effective December 24, 2023). Remember, before anyone uses BluJay Parcel on December 25, all users must be logged out of BluJay Parcel. [CSPA-479]
  • Note: Some minor elements have not been supplied to e2open that effect UPS Hundredweight, for the Average Minimum Weights which vary by CWT tier. If these values change post release we will make an upated rate file available and will include it in 23.4.2.000.

• In some cases, when Remark and PO_NO were not populated neither would print on the UPS label.[CSPA-458]

• With the deprecation of Eltron labels, the docutab functionality has been added to FedEx labels on the Zebra 203 dpi driver. [CSPA-471] (23.3.0.003)

• Entering FedEx Configuration for the first time after upgrading to 23.3.x.xxx requires a one-time EULA prompt for FedEx’s license agreement, the license text was missing. [CSPA-474] (23.3.0.003)

• In 23.3.0.001 HF4 the FedEx Express and FedEx Ground screens to international destinations was no longer prompting for users when required. (23.3.0.002)

• In 23.3.0.001 HF4 the FedEx Express a prompt for account number was no longer prompting for users when Bill Third Party was defined in the carrier file or with KI but a pay account was not supplied in the customer file or via KI. (23.3.0.003)

• FedEx Ground Hazmat forms could fail to print on Windows “Laser” printers. Note: The form was originally formatted to 100 dpi printing. As part of standardizing “laser” to 300 DPI formats this form has changed to 300 dpi. As a result the values for the offset have changed, if the forms print oddly, simply multiply the values by 3 and adjust as needed. [CSPA-473] (23.3.0.003)

• FedEx Ground Economy supports Bill Third Party, Clippership was not sending the account number to FSMS 20.0x [CSPA-460] (23.3.0.003)

• FedEx Ground Economy labels would return an error “Invalid Pickup Carrier” if SmartPost was configured as the Pickup Carrier in prior versions. Clippership will now ignore this old setting when configured for FSMS 200X. [CSPA-469] (23.3.0.003)

• In some cases when using the legacy Parsed Addressing method, where addressed are not in specific places, instead of the recommended and tested Standardized Addressing method, an address line could be duplicated. (23.3.0.002)

• Startup of Clippership systems with multiple accounts may start up faster on UPS enabled systems. An upgrade process from version 10.0 was performing it’s tracking number update every time the First User logged in unnecessarily. [CSPA-461] (23.3.0.003)

• UPS Commercial Invoice may fail to print for countries that do not support paperless CI or Clippership has been configured to print the full page paper CI even when paperless is allowed for any country. [CSPA-439] (23.3.0.003)

• Reference numbers may now print on UPS 4×4 labels if there is room and based on UPS rules for priority of text. These will follow the same rules for the PLD based on reference number setup. [CSPA-452] (23.3.0.003).

• In prior versions, Clippership would allow packages with an invalid number of ZIP Code digits for UPS Domestic packages, only formatted 5 digit ZIP codes and 9 digit ZIP+4 ZIP Codes, Clippership will now produce and error message and disallow recording the package. [CSPA-438] (23.3.0.002)
