New Workstation Setup
These are the general steps for pre-configuring a new Clippership workstation on an existing Clippership network installation. Note that configurations vary, based on the requirements of the shipper.
- Map required network drive(s), ensuring the same path to the Clippership directory as other existing workstations
- Configure any required ODBC data sources
Note: 32-bit data sources required (not 64-bit)
- If this a Kewill.Integrate (KI) interface, install current version of Kewill.Integrate
- If you don't know, contact LSE support
- Kewill.Integrate installation info: Kewill.Integrate Installation
- If an OzExe integration, copy local folder that contains the custom exe file that launches your Clippership integration
- The shortcut used to start Clippership should help you locate this folder
- Usually C:\Logic or C:\ProgramData\Logic
- Run Clippership manually by running CSWIN.EXE from the network drive
- This will initiate the installation of prerequisite software such as C++ runtime files and .NET Framework
- If prompted for administrator/UAC elevation, accept/allow it. When the Clippership login prompt is displayed, cancel, and then start again. Ideally, Clippership starts up without UAC after prerequisites have been applied.
- If you log into a network-map shared instance of Clippership while elevated, it is likely that you will encounter errors when Clippership attempts to read files on the network drive.
Warning: Make sure you are running this from the same path as other workstations, i.e. F:\Clippership\CSWIN.EXE
To Know: Due to how Windows handles mapped drives and admin elevation, you will probably run into file access errors if you log in to Clippership while elevated. So, we recommend clicking Cancel at the login prompt, and then starting again. Clippership should not prompt for elevation after its requisites are installed.
- Contact LSE support for remaining instructions, based on your company's configuration
