UPS provides your UPS SurePost® rates in Excel (*.xls) files. In order to import them into Clippership, you'll need to save them in comma-delimited (*.csv) format.

Clippership includes the published list rate Excel files for UPS SurePost in the {Clippership}\UPS\SurepostList directory. If you save these files as .csv then import them, they will take effect immediately after you import them (and only when you import them). Clippership will not import them automatically and they are not date-dependant.

  1. Open one of the files in Microsoft Excel.
  2. From the File menu, select Save As.
    • Note: Leave the layout of the worksheet as-is.
  3. In the Save as type list at the bottom of the dialog box, scroll down and select CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv).
  4. Click Save.
  5. A warning message appears stating that the file may contain features that are not compatible with CSV (Comma delimited). Click Yes to proceed with saving the file in the CSV format.
  6. Close the file (File menu > Close).
  7. Repeat these steps for each of the Excel files.
  1. From the Utilities menu, select Carrier Setup, then Rate/Route Files. Click Select.
  2. In the Rate/Route Files dialog box, select the UPS SurePost® file that you want to import and click Select.
    • Note: Only the files for the services that are enabled in your UPS SurePost® contract appear in the list.
  3. Browse to the folder where you saved the CSV format of your rate files.
    • If you named your CSV files as follows, Clippership will find the correct file for the service you want to import automatically:
      • SurePost_Rates_BoundPrinted.csv
      • SurePost_Rates_Media.csv
      • SurePost_Rates_Over1LB.csv
      • UPS_SurePost_Rates_Under1lb.csv
    • Otherwise, change the Files of type list to All Files (*.*) and select the *.csv file for the service you want to import.
  4. The Import Confirmation dialog box appears. It displays the name of the UPS SurePost® service that you selected to import in Step 2 and the *.csv file you selected to import. Make sure that the *.csv file you selected is for the service you intend to import.
  5. Select the Clippership account number for which to import the file.
  6. Click OK to import the file.
  7. A confirmation message appears briefly once the import has completed successfully. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each of the UPS SurePost® services in your contract.
    • Note: The non-DDU and non-machinable surcharges from the last file you import are saved and viewable in the UPS PLD Default Values dialog box. Those surcharges are currently the same for all UPS SurePost® services.
