  • Before installing FSMS, the installer verifies if the applicable .Net Framework version 4.8 is installed on the system.
    • If the .Net Framework version 4.8 is not present, the installer aborts the installation of FSMS and a parameterized error message “FedEx Ship Manager® Server requires that your system has the .Net Framework version 4.8 installed,” is displayed before the installer is closed.
  • If your server is currently on a domain, remove it from the domain prior to the installation process.
    • After the installation, you can add it back to the domain. By doing so, you can also eliminate other variables that could cause issues during the installation process.
    • This is the FedEx recommendation. LSE has done FSMS installations successfully without removing the server from the domain.
  • Ensure that the server has a local Windows Administrator account for installing and running the FSMS application.
    • Typically, a local administrator named FEDEXUSER is created. But any username can be used.
    • Ideally, the password should be set to not expire
    • You should be logged in with this user when running the installation.
    • The installation wizard will prompt for the password for this user, which will be used when configuring the services.
      • Most FedEx services will be configured to “run as” this user.
      • If the password changes, then each of the FedEx services will need to be updated with the new password.
  • Have a valid product key
    • Product key for 20.08 (expires July 31, 2026): 7CV8S3KMKY54Z4F3
    • Product key for 20.07 (expires Feb 28, 2025): 77RQS36MKY54Z4F3
  • Know your FedEx Compatible Solution Program Type code
    • The FedEx CSP code for Clippership is 014
